The fist section of this inn, now known as the Hessian, was originally built in 1780, making this the oldest building in Central Virginia. After the addition of the center part in 1812, it became a boy's school. Today it is comprised of two buildings, the main house and the cottage, offering a total of seven rooms, a restaurant with three separate intimate dining areas and a bar. Each room has been carefully detailed according to its theme and all abound with period furnishings.
